My name is Fred, and I never imagined I would find myself asking for help like this.

Over the last few years, I worked hard, saved every dollar I could, and eventually purchased an old rural home with the dream of restoring it myself. It wasn’t a perfect property, but that was part of the appeal. I saw potential where others saw hard work. Every improvement, repair, and renovation was something I planned to tackle with my own hands.

Like many people trying to get ahead, I couldn’t afford to hire tradespeople for every job. Instead, I slowly built up a collection of power tools, hand tools, gardening equipment, and security cameras over time. Each purchase represented hours of work, careful budgeting, and sacrifices made to move my project forward.

Recently, life has already been challenging. I am currently navigating a separation, which has brought its own emotional and financial difficulties. Despite that, I remained determined to keep moving forward, continue restoring my home, and rebuild my life one step at a time.

Then everything changed.

During a severe storm that left the area without power for four days, my property was targeted while I was away. Taking advantage of the blackout and the isolation of a rural property, thieves broke in and caused significant damage. Doors and window frames were smashed, security was compromised, and much of what I had worked so hard to acquire was taken.

Among the items stolen were my power tools, hand tools, gardening power equipment, security cameras, and my motorbike.

What was taken was more than just equipment.

Those tools were how I maintained and improved my property. They were how I planned to continue restoring my home. They represented years of investment and countless hours of hard work. Without them, many of the projects that were underway have come to a standstill.

The emotional impact has been just as significant as the financial loss. It is difficult to describe the feeling of returning to a property you have poured your heart into and finding it violated. The place that was meant to be a fresh start suddenly no longer feels secure.

The incident has been reported to police, and the appropriate authorities have been contacted. While investigations are ongoing, the reality is that replacing what was stolen and repairing the damage will place a significant financial burden on me at a time when I am already facing considerable challenges.

I am creating this fundraiser to help cover the cost of replacing essential tools and equipment, repairing the damage caused by the break-in, and improving security so that I can continue restoring my home and feel safe there again.
