Yup, that's me. You're probably wondering how I ended up in this situation.
Thanks to your support, I was able to survive an extra couple months, after my employment ended and the job market imploded. Since then, there have been some very stupid updates:
-My apartment building became infested with mice, to the point of them nesting inside appliances, cookware, the bathroom and basement. While I live in an old building, there were several large holes and entry points throughout the interior and exterior of the building. My landlord had neglected the issue for some time, and only began to act after the county and legal aid got involved. I'm happy to report that the issue is finally being taken seriously and resolved, though it'll take some time for pest control to fully eradicate the rodent population and seal up entry-points.
-I've continued to undergo further medical diagnostics, regarding genetic neurological, muculoskeletal disabilities and intersexism. While imaging has confirmed early onset degenerative disc disease, scoliosis, pelvic sciatica; and likely hEDS- I'm awaiting further endocrinology and genetic testing appointments; to get further clarity on my intersex condition, and what was done to me as an infant. These diagnostics are vital, not only for my quality of life- but also for me to get MA, eventual SSDI and disability accommodations.
-I was coordinating a move out of state with extended relatives, but have discovered it would be inhospitable and a controlling environment. I was lead on for over a month. Attempting to coordinate this move took valuable time away from finding resources here, in the Twin Cities.
I'm most likely preparing a move into a women's shelter to holistically reboot my life. I'm to be crowdfunding my overdue rent balance; my upcoming gas utilities and the costs to move my belongings into a storage locker. Any extra would go towards next month's phone bill and other expenses. Thanks to y'alls support- I was able to make my December phone bill, internet bill, electric bill, and get some groceries!
Here's a breakdown of costs & where they're going!
-$872.00 in rent ($175 left of November's rent; & $697.50 in December rent)
-~$50 in utilities
-$90 to place my belongings in a storage locker
This really sucks, but I truly think going to a homeless shelter for a few months, being connected to wraparound services, and continuing my medical diagnostics is my best path forward, to attain more independence and a more stable life. I'm hoping long-term I can return to college, in a different field. I'll be spreading this around, please share if this comes across your feed. Even if you don't have the means to spare financially, that valuable mindshare is vital. ;)
