My name is Jacques Jefferies, and I’m a British biathlete chasing a dream: to represent Great Britain at the Winter Olympic Games in Milan-Cortina 2026.
Biathlon, a sport that combines cross-country skiing and rifle shooting; is one of the most demanding disciplines in winter sport. It requires endurance, precision, and mental resilience. Every day, I dedicate myself to training, racing, and improving, with one goal in mind: to bring British biathlon to the Olympic stage.
Why I’m Fundraising
Unlike larger nations, British biathlon receives limited funding, meaning much of the cost of preparing for the Games falls on athletes themselves.
Your support will directly help me cover essential costs such as:
- Team clothing and equipment (skis, rifles, race suits, poles, etc.)
- Ammunition and waxing materials (key for performance but extremely costly)
- Travel and accommodation for international races and training camps
- Nutrition and recovery support throughout the season
- Logistics and transport between competition venues across Europe
Every contribution; no matter the size; makes a genuine difference in my ability to train and compete at the highest level.
Who I Am
I’m 23 years old, with dual British and French nationality, and I’ve been competing internationally for several years on the IBU Cup circuit. I’m proud to now be racing under the British flag, carrying the ambition of qualifying for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
Beyond sport, I’m deeply committed to sustainability and mental health advocacy:
- As an IBU Sustainability Ambassador, I work to promote more responsible and climate-conscious sports.
- As a mental health advocate, I speak openly about the pressures athletes face and the need for balance and wellbeing in high-performance sport.
I also share my story and reflections through my newsletter, “Off the Range with Jacques Jefferies” where I document the highs, lows, and lessons of life as a professional athlete.
How You Can Help
Your donations will help me stay focused on performance and recovery, knowing that the essentials are covered.
Each pound or euro you give goes straight toward making this Olympic dream possible.
If you can’t donate, you can still support by:
• Sharing this page with others
• Following my journey on social media or through my newsletter
• Sending a message of encouragement, they mean more than you think
A Final Word
I’ve dedicated my life to this sport; to the cold mornings, the thousands of kilometres on skis, and the countless hours of training; because I believe in what it represents: precision, endurance, and purpose.
The road to Milan-Cortina is long and uncertain, but with your help, I can get there.
Together, let’s make British biathlon shine on the Olympic stage.
Thank you for being part of the journey.
Jacques
