On Tuesday 3/24 I received a message from my brother that our mother, Michelle, had to be taken into hospital and was put in the intensive care unit (ICU) with a diagnosis of sepsis with multiple organ failure. Over the past couple of days there have been ups and downs to her condition, but ultimately she is not getting better and requires surgery to give a chance of survival.

Thankfully, since she and my brother live in England, their health costs are covered (thank you NHS!) however it is their distance from me that is my problem. I've lived in the USA for nearly 20 years. My family visited me when they could but it has been six years since I saw my mother.

I want nothing more than to fly and be by my mother's side right now but simply do not have the funds to do so. To make matters worse, my passport expired just last month and so I also need to pay for an expedited new passport.

All of this takes money and time, money I don't have and time my mother doesn't have. I desperately need help from anyone who can either give a little financial aid or spread word of this campaign to help get me to England as soon as I can.
