Morty was a gift to me, but he’s become so much more, he’s been my comfort through depression, the one who stayed by my side when I cried myself to sleep. He means the world to me and my whole family.

My name is Ileane, and I’m a college student. Recently, my mom came home to find Morty wobbly and crying. We rushed him to the vet, and after being sent to a second location, we learned he has a lifelong urinary condition caused by stress, something we never knew.

Morty had to be hospitalized, and if he doesn’t receive proper treatment, it can affect his liver and heart. The vet bills are already more than I can handle on a student income, but I’m doing everything I can to help him recover.
