Help me fund a once-in-a-lifetime school trip to Malaysia

Hi,

My name is Darroch and I am 12 years old.

I have been given the opportunity to go on a "World Challenge" school trip to Malaysia for two weeks next year.

During the trip we will be tasked with activities to test and stretch our leadership and group skills, including: map reading, orienteering, money management, photography, food etc..

We will start off in Kuala Lumpur for three days before heading to Tanah Rata, a town in the Cameron Highlands, where we will participate in a self-guided hike - either beside the river or attempting to reach the summit of Gunung Berembun (1.81m)! We will then have a white water rafting trip and ride the rapids on the Kampar River. We will then have an opportunity to get immersed in Malaysian culture by spending the next few days living alongside an indigenous community, experiencing their life first-hand and will also have the chance to contribute to a local initiative. We will be taught how to survive in the jungle by building shelters and starting fires and will get hands-on at a weaving workshop. We will embrace tribal traditions by foraging for food and sharing it at a barbecue with the locals. We will then head back to Kuala Lumpur to discover more about the capital and its surroundings by visiting the Menara Tower and going to the Batu Caves - a Hindu temple built into limestone cliffs. We will get to visit the night markets and will enjoy tasting some local delicacies.

Post-Covid and a difficult couple of years, this seems like an opportunity not to be missed as I've not travelled much until now and I think this would be an awesome way of testing myself.

The price of the school trip is very steep (£4,000). Obviously my parents are going to support me, but part of the project is that we take the initiative and action to fund ourselves - so my target is £2,000.

I don't expect freebies so I have started cleaning cars to earn money.
