Hello, my name is Zhane’l Speaks, and I appreciate you for taking the time to read about my project. I am a writer and I love books. I want to share my love for books by bringing little libraries into my own community in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I would like to place one of the little libraries at an elementary/middle school and one at a high school. By putting little libraries in the community, it will give kids a chance to engage in conversation about new worlds that they’ve read about. Many kids in urban communities don’t have much access to books that relate to them. So my hopes with bringing little libraries to my own community will provide more access to black and brown books all year round. Giving back to my own community in this way is only the beginning of giving the community a brighter future.
