Help Me Fund My MA in Creative Writing at Swansea University

My name is Sena, I’m 25, from Turkey, and I’ve recently graduated with a degree in Translation and Interpreting. Now, I’ve been offered a place on the MA in Creative Writing programme at Swansea University; a dream I’ve held onto for years.

This opportunity means everything to me, mainly because it’ll allow me to take solid steps into my writing career. I’ve worked hard to get to this point, solely on my own. I receive no financial or emotional support from my family, and despite the many obstacles, I have stayed committed to my education and my dream of becoming a published author.

Swansea University is not just a beautiful place to study — it’s also one of the most affordable options for me. Still, as an international student, especially someone from Turkey, the costs are overwhelming. Tuition fees, visa expenses, accommodation, and basic living needs add up quickly. I’m doing everything I can, including applying to scholarships and remote jobs, but without help, I won’t be able to accept my place which I fear will be the end of every reason I live for.

I’m asking for support not just for myself, but for the stories I hope to tell, stories that could reach across borders, speak for underrepresented voices, and remind people they’re not alone.
