My name is Jiri Kluc. I am a 29-year-old passionate historian and graduate of Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic (former Czechoslovakia).

My work is dedicated to preserving the stories of Holocaust survivors and World War II veterans. I believe their testimonies are among the most important historical treasures we have — and it is my mission to preserve them for future generations.

Through in-depth interviews and careful documentation, I aim to make these stories available to the public, museums, schools, and archives, ensuring that the voices of those who lived through history are never forgotten.

I feel an urgent responsibility to interview as many Holocaust survivors as possible before their voices are lost forever. I have already spent thousands of hours — and personally funded thousands of dollars — traveling, researching, and recording these testimonies. For many survivors, sharing their stories is a duty. For me, preserving them is a duty as well.

This research is self-funded and made possible through the generosity of donors. Every contribution helps cover travel expenses, recording equipment, archival work, and the continued preservation of these invaluable stories.

I am the author of several books focused on the Holocaust and WWII, and my literary contributions have been recognized with numerous national awards.

My work has also been featured in both international and national media outlets, including The Washington Post, The Chicago Sun-Times, and The Gazette, as well as on Czech National Television and Czech National Radio.

Your support truly means the world to me — and it helps ensure that history is never forgotten.

Thank you for standing with me in this mission.

From article in The Washington Post (published January 27, 2026):
Jiri Kluc volunteered to help a group of Holocaust survivors living near his home in the Czech Republic when he was just 16 years old. As he helped them buy groceries and clean their homes, a few showed him the prisoner number tattoos they received at the
Auschwitz death camps. They recounted the days when Nazis killed their family members, knowing they could be next at any moment. It wasn’t until a few years later — when some of those survivors died around 2018 — that Kluc recognized how precious their stories were. “I realized that these people will be gone,” Kluc, 29, told The Washington Post, “and if their stories will not be preserved, we might forget.”
