Here goes nothing. I'm a newly single mom. I separated after 16 years of marriage, and I'm doing my best to make it on my own. We've been doing okay so far, but I've found myself in a jam this month. After getting super sick with pneumonia, made worse by my autoimmune disease and ulcerative colitis, I missed a couple of days of work. Unfortunately, I didn't have the PTO to cover it, so this last check was super short. I've used Flex to pay my rent because it allowed me to pay a portion now while still sending the full amount to my apartment complex, but I have to come up with the remaining balance by January 16th. If I don't pay the remaining amount by then I'm charged exorbitant late fees of $125/day, which I definitely cannot afford. With the other bills I have, the storage unit fee (because I went from a 3-bedroom house to a small apartment), etc., I'm coming up short. I try never to ask for help, it's not who I am, but I need to be able to provide housing for my son. I know times are tough for everyone, but if you could find it in your heart to help us, I would be forever grateful. Thank you for reading.
