In 2020, I lost my caregiving job because of the COVID pandemic. With no steady income, I had to rely on credit cards to cover my basic needs while I searched for work. At the same time, I was struggling with Dissociative Identity Disorder (DID) and Schizoaffective Disorder, which made daily life incredibly challenging. It wasn’t until 2024 that I was officially diagnosed and began receiving the treatment I needed. Thanks to the support of my hospital, friends, and family, I am now in a much better place mentally and emotionally.

Despite this progress, the debt I accumulated during those difficult years has continued to weigh heavily on me. It’s been a constant source of stress and has held me back from moving forward with my life. My dream is to go back to school and study nursing so I can help others the way I’ve been helped. However, my debt has made it nearly impossible to pursue this goal.

Reaching my fundraiser amount would mean finally being free from the burden of debt. It would allow me to focus on my education and work toward becoming the nurse I aspire to be.
