My name is Harley, and for the past year, I’ve been struggling to keep my head above water after my co-borrower left me to handle all the rent and utilities on my own. On top of that, I’ve had to keep making insurance and loan payments on a vehicle I no longer have, just to avoid losing my first home. Even though I work up to 50 hours a week, it’s been nearly impossible to cover all my expenses. I don’t need help with my living expenses or other payments—just my past due water bill, which hasn’t been paid since April.

This past year has been filled with unexpected challenges. My 30-year-old car broke down, I had to take my cat to the vet, and I faced repairs to my air conditioner during the summer. I’ve also had to see a doctor without insurance, and the stress has made it hard to sleep at night. Despite doing everything I can, I’ve fallen behind on my water bill, and now I’m at risk of having my service shut off. If I can pay off this bill, I won’t be behind anymore and can finally start to rebuild my life after a year of hardship.
