Milk the all white hedgehog was found by my boyfriend abandoned at a boat ramp at 2am. She is an African pygmy hedgehog and must have been left there by a neglectful owner. I immediately noticed her back foot was incredibly swollen and possibly necrotic. The vet removed tightly wound fishing line from her leg, which cut to the bone. So far, it looks like the leg can possibly heal on its own with bandages and medicine. If it doesn't heal, the only other options are amputation or humane euthanasia. She is incredibly curious and adventurous, and I have not noticed anything negative about her quality of life aside from her back leg. I would really like to give her a long happy and loving life, and any small amount you can contribute to help me pay all of her vet bills will really help. Thank you so much!
