2 Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. 4 Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
I WOULDNT WISH THE TRIALS IVE FACED IN THE LAST YEAR ON MY WORST ENEMY!
I created this page in a desperate plea to get assistance with legal fees associated with support, custody, and divorce. I do trust that God will make a way and will provide for me and my children, but I dont believe it's right to sit idly by and wait for it!
18 months ago, my husband and I began counciling to save our marriage of nearly 13 years, so I thought. 9 months later I explained that I would be moving out and seeking divorce. There are many ugly details that I'll leave off for everyone's benefit, but know that after much prayer, council, and expert guidance separation and divorce is what's best for all involved. I have no regrets!
3 months later I moved out on my own with no financial support from my husband. 3 months later, he began paying what I consider alimony which is really 24% (my entitlement) of his military retirement. 4 months later, I was forced to leave an amazing job that I loved dearly and gave my all, leaving me an unemployed single mother.
Just a few days later, my day in court finally came to collect some child support. You see, our adolescent daughter hadn't had visitation with her father in 6 months at his request while our son sees him every other week. Just last week, 2 months after court, I finally recieved a child support purge payment in a minimal amount for our daughter. While my husband makes 3x what I do, he refuses to assist. I'm on food stamps, govt health care, and am soon to be getting unemployment for 13 weeks. I also substitute teach as I am a licensed K-6 teacher, in hopes of being picked up full time. Until that time comes, bills dont get paid, kids don't get any fun stuff, and I don't sleep.
I did take out a loan to pay my attourney while I was still employed, but have since needed to use much of those funds on living expenses such as rent, While I intended to settle out of court, aggree to his demands, and show grace, my husband never had that intent.
