Hi my name is Estefany Maria. I am raising funds for my medical education. My story is long, filled with bumps in the road and adversities I have overcome. Previously, I was embarrassed by these things but now they are my amour.

I was born and raised in Washington Heights, NYC. I went to Health Opportunities High School in the bronx where I developed my passion of becoming a doctor. I was later admitted to the University of Rochester on a full scholarship and recieved a bachelors in Public Health.

I graduated and studied for the MCAT for many months. However, during my studies I had a "stroke like event" and was not able to study for many months. I engaged in physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy. Eventually after many months of therapy, I regained my strength and took the MCAT but I didn't do well. So after much contemplating, I decided to go to medical school in the Carribbean, Medical University of the Americas.

This was hard! But I am proud because I studied and succeeded in 2 of 3 classes. Unfortunately I failed 1 course, Histology and now I have to pay out of pocket to take the repeat the course. I am no longer eligible for US Financial Aid, nor do I have a co-signer for a personal loan. I need to raise funds to go back to school or else I cannot continue my medical studies, please help me.

I am asking for funds to pay for tuition and room/board. After taking this class I will be eligible for US financial aid and continue my path to becoming a doctor!
