My name is Cindy Barrera, and I am originally from Honduras. I am currently raising funds to pay for my college education as an international student living in Texas where I am in my second year at the University of Houston–Downtown, majoring in International Business and Accounting.

Throughout my academic journey, I have maintained strong academic performance, which has allowed me to continue my studies through merit-based external scholarships. Unfortunately, I am now facing a financial hardship that threatens my ability to continue my education.

I am a financially independent student and work a part-time job to cover my basic living expenses, including housing, food, and transportation. However, my current income is not sufficient to cover my educational costs. At this time, I have an outstanding balance of $3,500, which prevents me from registering for the upcoming semester.

My greatest desire is to continue my education and not allow financial challenges to stop my dreams. I am a determined and hardworking individual who deeply believes in the power of education as a way to give back to society and build a better future.
