Hi, my name is Desiree, and I’m reaching out with a humble heart — something I never imagined I’d have to do. I’ve always prided myself on being strong and independent, but the truth is, even the strongest among us sometimes need help.

Right now, I’m at risk of losing our home. I’m a mom to two amazing kids, and we’ve faced a series of unexpected hardships that have left us struggling to stay afloat. Earlier this year, we had to make an emergency move due to dangerous living conditions in our old apartment — black mold and ongoing maintenance issues made it unsafe, especially for my daughter with severe allergies and my son who has asthma.

We’ve been doing our best to rebuild, but life keeps throwing us curveballs. I had to pay for an emergency car repair recently — a car I rely on to get to my kids’ many doctor’s appointments and my own, as I suffer from seizures. Missing work to care for our health has meant missing income, and now we’ve fallen behind on bills.

We’re trying to raise $3,000 to cover our June and July rent, put food on the table (our EBT benefits were just cut in half — now only $80/month), and catch up on essential bills so we can stay stable.

This is a scary time. I’m doing everything I can, but I’m asking for help because I refuse to let my kids lose their home again.
