Hi, my name is Liz, and I’m a mom of three doing everything I can to rebuild a safe and stable life for my kids after leaving an abusive father and marriage.

The past year has been incredibly difficult. I made the decision to leave my ex-husband after a long and painful period of emotional and financial abuse. In that time, my credit was wrecked, my mental health took a serious hit, and I had to step away from my job in March to focus on healing and caring for my children full-time.

Since then, I’ve been doing everything I can to rebuild. My last lease ended in May and I’ve been looking for a landlord willing to work with me despite the damage left behind by my ex. I’ve finally found a safe home where my kids and I can start over. I just need help to make it ours.

To move in, I need help with $2,100 security deposit and $2,100 first month's rent, plus $400 in moving costs/getting back to Madison. Yes, the cost of rent in Madison is crazy expensive.

I’m not giving up. I’m driving for rideshare to make ends meet while I reopen my notary business and study to launch a bookkeeping service — both of which will allow me to support my family with more stability going forward. I just need help getting over this hurdle.
