In 2000, my life took a difficult turn. I was injured and, unfortunately, prescribed the wrong medication. This led to a period of deep depression and suicidal thoughts. The timing couldn’t have been worse—I was about to start a new job at FedEx, but because of my condition, I missed the opportunity. Looking back, I realize it was probably for the best that I wasn’t driving while on those medications, but missing that job changed the course of my life.

Since then, I’ve been living on disability, struggling to make ends meet. My current living situation is far from ideal, and I need to move very soon. On top of that, I am diabetic and my refrigerator is about to go out, which makes things even more stressful. I have no family to help me through this, and the challenges feel overwhelming at times.

The funds I raise here will be a Godsend. They will help me pay for a moving company, cover first and last months’ rent, and take care of security deposits so I can find a safer, healthier place to live.
