Hi, I'm Tom, a disabled queer artist, and in a few months I'm losing my home AND my means of making digital art [UPDATE: thanks to some incredible friends, the tablet is no longer an issue, and I'm updating this to remove references to it].
I have a full-time job and a meagre side hustle of Patreon and Kickstarted enamel pins, but still struggle to make ends meet. This is a major problem right now because I'm being forced to move in February, which I am struggling to save up for because I live paycheck-to-paycheck, I need to come up with application fees, first month's rent, security deposit, and moving expenses.
Why's that? you might ask. First off, I'm not on the lease right now, and my roommate has decided to move out of state this coming February instead of renewing the lease, meaning I have no choice but to move as well, whether I can afford it or not. And I have no choice in the matter of needing to hire help, either, because there are a number of items, such as my bed and work desk, that I physically cannot move on my own and cannot fit in/on my car.
Here's how what I'm asking for breaks down:
My half of first month's rent: $900
My half of a security deposit: $900
Moving expenses and application fees: $500
Less my savings: -$200
I have almost zero reach on social media so PLEASE PLEASE SHARE THIS, even if you can't afford to donate.
Also please consider backing my current Kickstarter . Every little bit helps!
