Help Me & Mittens Avoid Homelessness!

It's quite embarrassing for me to share my full story but at this point, I have no other option than to be completely open and transparent with what I've been trying to hide behind the scenes of my life.

Firstly my name is Jalina. I am 24 and studying IT. I am in an abusive living situation with my family. A couple of months ago in September my mother and brothers moved into our home with me and my grandmother. The reason being so is that my brother had destroyed their own home so much that people were easily able to vandalize their apartment.

Since then it has been quite a living hell, to the point I've tried to kill myself because I was constantly in survival mode every day physically being attacked, having constant panic attacks to the point I thought I was dying of a heart attack, verbally and mentally abused from both the mental health issues from my brother and my mother.

During the time they moved in with us, I took in a stray kitten and named him Mittens. He has been my escape and comfort from the hell I was living in daily. He is my whole world he's given me so much unconditional love when I needed it the most.

My friend was kind enough to let me stay with them for 2 weeks temporarily just to get away from the stress I was going through every single day from my brother screaming, violently attacking us, and destroying things in our home.

Two days after I left for my trip my brother once again attacked my family and destroyed multiple items in our home including our TV, microwave, etc. This is not the first time he has done this, this was happening nearly every day or two days. I do not have pictures of the TV or microwave because, by the time I returned from my trip, they had already been thrown away due to damage.

So many horrible things happened to me before I was to leave for my trip but I had to go because if I had stayed I would've probably not been here to type this, I would've killed myself from the amount of stress I was going through.

One of those horrible things was Mittens going missing for a week and then being found and returned home. Unfortunately, when I returned from my trip he got sick and he now has swollen eyes that secrete mucus, coughing, and wheezing, he is not his normal healthy self anymore.

The management for the apartment is evicting everyone from this apartment now due to the multiple amounts of times the police have been called to our residence because of my brother violently attacking us and destroying things.

I don't have enough money to take him to the vet and get him professionally treated because I barely have enough money for myself now especially now that I am being given only 3 weeks to leave and find a new place. I am unable to stay with a friend because they have no room in their place for me or Mittens. He is my whole world and I am so crushed that I am not financially able to take care of him or myself. All I want is a new fresh start away from my abusive family.

Please help me and Mittens avoid homelessness and have enough funds to move out or at least temporarily stay in an Airbnb until I can figure something out. I would love to relocate to New York to start my life over with Mittens. If anyone is reading this and can assist me with relocation from Ohio to New York please reach out with any information that you have. I've been applying to housing, jobs, and agencies. I just want a fresh start away from the trauma and abuse my family has put me through for so many years.

Please help me and Mittens avoid homelessness and start a new beginning in a new place. The funds from this gofundme will be used for vet care for Mittens, and moving expenses to a new safe place for me and him that is affordable and pet-friendly.
