Hi everyone, my name is Jeremy and I am fundraising for my final university undergraduate short film project called Pros & Cons.
Synopsis
In a parked car, a stressed-out man rants about modern society. His girlfriend tries to help by guiding him through an online personality test. However, her efforts only makes him angrier, finally pushing him to do what he's come here to do: rob the bank.
About me
I was born and raised in rural British Columbia where I developed a fascination for movies, music, and art. Home videos were a big part of my childhood, and the family HandyCam became one of my earliest tools for expression and experimenting with my own storytelling. I began to focus more seriously on filmmaking in 2021, and in 2023 I was accepted into the Mel Hoppenheim School of Cinema in Montreal, Quebec. Now, 3 years later, I am in production with my final film school project.
Over the years I have developed an interest in creating characters that, through layers of humour, express the deepest of human emotions. This is mostly as a way of processing my own thoughts and views of the world, but I believe this offers an opportunity for others to reflect as well. That’s why I feel compelled to tell this story.
I am making this film with a passionate and talented group of artists who, over the past few months, have been preparing every aspect of this shoot. Everything from story and character development to applying for filming permits through the city, and seeking a safe and comfortable location for both crew and our amazing volunteer actors. Now the we’re so close to the filming date, and with only three days to shoot (from October 31st to November 2nd), we are looking for all the help we can get.
This is where you come in!
Your contributions, no matter how small, will go toward the following:
- Permit costs: $32 (City of Montreal)
- Rental costs: $230 (Picture Car Rental)
- Food: $400–$500 (for 18 crew members and 3 actors for three days)
- Transportation and gas: $240 (U-Haul truck rental)
- Art supplies and props: $250
- Post-production costs: $250 (original film score)
These funds will be distributed between the three days of production and the post-production period during the winter term of 2026 (January to April).
If you’ve made it to this part, thank you so much for watching the video and reading this text. Any contribution, truly makes a difference and will go directly toward the development of this film and bringing this story to life.
Your support is greatly appreciated!!
