Help me achieve my soccer dreams!

Donation protected
Hi there!
I'm reaching out today with an exciting opportunity to be a part of something big – my soccer journey. I'm Layla Adams, a 16-year-old goalkeeper currently in grade 11 at St Andrew's Lutheran College. Over the past four years, I've been immersed in the world of soccer, and now, I'm seeking your support to help me achieve some remarkable milestones in this sport.

I've been working hard and playing my heart out both in futsal and soccer. As a dedicated goalkeeper, I've faced challenges head-on and honed my skills to become the best in my position.

I am a member of the Crusaders Futsal Club, where I have played in the Women's team and the U17 girls team. I also proudly wear the jerseys of Gold Coast United Football Club, participating in their Senior Women's team and U23s Women's team.
My efforts have earned me spots in various representative select teams, each an exciting opportunity:
  • South Coast Football team – I have played my part in the State Championship for each of the past 3 years.
  • Queensland Futsal team – I had the privilege of showcasing my skills this year at the National Futsal Championship in Melbourne.
  • Queensland Football team – I'm gearing up for the upcoming National Youth Championship scheduled for October in Wollongong.

Adding to my journey, I've been extended an invitation to the U-17 Junior Matildas squad. This revelation has truly turned my life around and injected even more determination into my pursuit.

However, as with any pursuit, there are challenges to navigate. While I'm grateful for the unwavering support of my parents, the financial aspects of this endeavour can't be ignored. The costs associated with club fees, travel, specialised equipment (goalkeeper gloves specifically), and more is putting pressure on our family budget. Juggling school, training, part-time work, and maintaining my grades has been demanding. Despite my best efforts to find work and help with the costs, the limited time available means I can't manage more than 10 hours per week.
Here's where I could use your assistance. I'm humbly asking my local community and the broader Australian community to consider supporting me to:
  • Easing the financial burden of the National Youth Football Championship in Wollongong where I will represent QLD.
  • Supporting my venture to the Surf Cup in California (USA), an exciting opportunity in November 2023.

Your contribution to my GoFundMe campaign isn't just financial help; it's an investment in my aspirations. Your help will make a significant impact and help me proudly represent our state and country in the world of soccer.

Your kindess and support mean the world to me.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Layla Adams
