Help me make my short film ‘Therapist’

Hey my name is Udbhavi Upadhyay and I am a MA filmmaking student from London Film Academy who is working on making an important project come to life. It’s a ten minute short film with a potential of being turned into a feature film. I grew up in a toxic environment where I saw the kids around me and how their lives were affected by their parents. I always wanted to write something about the aftermath of a crime as we mostly see how the crime happened but talk less about how it completely changed the victim’s life and the lives of people around them. ‘Therapist’ is a hard hitting story of how a young troubled girl seeks therapy from the man responsible for her traumatic childhood- her biological father, who had back in the day raped her mother.

Given my experience of having worked on a National Award winning movie, and being one of the judges of a film competition back in my home country, I know for a matter of fact that this film will do really well in film festivals. The total budget of the project is around 3500 pounds. Despite being enrolled in a full time course, I am self funding 500, but I still need 3000 to make the film happen. The film will be shot on industry grade equipment that we will borrow from our school. The post production will completely happen at our school. The 3500 is basically built of actors fee, location cost and transport. Please help me actualise my vision and help a fellow creative step into the UK film industry. Collaborators include most of the crew members from MA filmmaking batch as well as some working professionals with industry experience.
