Hey y’all, I hate to ask (seriously I was thisclose to e-signing a payday loan contract because of how much I hate to ask) but I think I might need some help.

The problem: I’m trying to make the very last payment (which, of course, is the balloon payment) on my car. It’s $1500 and is due by EOD 7/4 or it’s potentially repo time. I currently have about $80 in the bank.

How I got to this stupid place: I’ve been working with a really great company for a little over a year. They always have interesting projects and they pay well. They just started a new project and want me to be part of the team so of course I jumped at the chance.

You see where this is going, right?

Y’all, the training/onboarding (which I do get paid for, but only once I’ve finished it) is taking foreverrrrrrrr. It’s taking about 3x as long as it usually takes. And because of this company’s payment schedule (the 5th and 20th of every month), even if I finish training today and managed to complete a few tasks within the project by the end of the month, I won’t have earned quite enough and won’t be paid in time to make this payment.

Here's the deal: I’ve currently got some time while I wait for all of my training tasks/onboarding stuff to get processed. Obviously, I’m looking for work that I can do quickly and that pays on delivery, but even that is a lot of hurry up and wait.

So! While I wait, instead of just stressing out, I thought I’d open up the floor to y’all to see if there’s anything I can do for you!

In other words: I don’t want a handout. I want to *earn* this money.

Do you need any help that I can provide digitally? Do you need to look stuff up or track stuff down but don’t have time/don’t like researching? Do you need any proofreading, editing, transcribing, annotating, data entry, file organizing, etc.? Do you want to commission a blog post or other form of content?

Would you like to commission some photos, sketches, creative writing? Perhaps an illustrated silly haiku about Sam, the great horned owl who lives behind my house and I’m desperately trying to befriend or one of my squirrel buddies? Some pretty nature photos that you can print onto…whatever you want?

I’m open to suggestions, too!

Finally: Obviously, there is zero pressure here! Times are super tough and I get that.
