Help Me Make It Through Recovery

A little bit of context

On Wednesday, the 15th of June 2022, while making a left turn on my electric scooter I was struck and knocked through the air by a car which then ran over and totaled my scooter. I went into hospital where they informed me that I had a complicated break that would require major surgery. The surgery went well and I was discharged after six days.

But there’s a problem

The medical support system in the United States is broken and I need help. I am not working because I can't walk or drive and I have no means to pay for basics such as rent, food and additional medical costs related to my injury. I live in Silicon Valley where rents are some of the highest in the country and in the world. I need to keep a roof over my head while inching toward recovery.

Here’s what we’re doing about it

I promise to do my best to get back on my feet and back to work as fast as possible. I have begun doing physical therapy exercises when I have a break in the pain and I am following discharge instructions from the doctors carefully. You can help by making sure I continue to have a roof over my head and funds for food and medicine. My goal is to walk back into work and resume being productive as soon as possible. Each month my expenses come to about $2,000. As I have been living paycheck to paycheck I have nothing in savings and I have no assets. Every dollar helps. Instead of having a coffee or eating out one day this week, you could send those dollars my way where I would put them directly into only the most crucial costs for my recovery.
