Dear family and friends, I am so glad you are here. After years of advocating for housing stability and supporting underserved communities throughout the Bay Area and San Mateo County, I never imagined I would face housing instability myself. When rising housing costs forced me to leave the Bay Area, I returned to my hometown of Fresno with the hope of rebuilding and continuing to contribute within my community. At the time, I was employed and moving forward responsibly; however, securing stable, long-term employment has proven more challenging than anticipated. Like many individuals I have worked with and advocated for, I now find myself navigating a time-sensitive housing situation. While unexpected, this experience has deepened my understanding of the very challenges I have long worked to address. Over the years, I have served in leadership roles across housing programs, youth mentorship, re-entry initiatives, and as a Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA). Advocacy is not new to me—it is a part of who I am. While continuing to actively pursue stable employment, I am currently working in a part-time, temporary role and remain engaged in advocacy efforts—raising awareness and contributing to conversations that support housing prevention strategies. My goal is to raise funds to assist with essential housing-related expenses, including associated legal costs, while I continue my employment search and community-based work.
