Help Me Live Free €4,500 Needed for Top Surgery

Hello, my name is Sammy. I am a transgender man from Uganda, now living in Germany as a refugee for the past two years.

Being transgender in Uganda was not just difficult , it was dangerous. In 2023, things became even worse after the Ugandan president signed an anti-LGBTQ law that includes the death penalty. As a member of the LGBTQIA+ community, I lived every day in fear.

Being open about who I am could mean harassment, arrest, violence , being raped or worse. I tried to hide who I was to survive, but some people found out. I lost my job, faced discrimination and rejection, and came close to being killed. Every day felt like a fight just to exist.

When I finally made it to Germany, I was able to start a new life. I began hormone therapy (HRT) and, for the first time, I started to see myself when I looked in the mirror. This gave me hope , hope that I can live openly and proudly as the man I truly am.

But there is still a major step left in my journey which is top surgery.

Top surgery would change everything. It would free me from the constant pain of gender dysphoria, allow me to feel comfortable in my own body, and help me live without fear of being misgendered. It would give me the chance to finally breathe and exist as my true self.

The cost of the surgery is €4,500, which I cannot afford on my own as a refugee. That is why I am reaching out to you , your support can help make this dream a reality.
