My name is Robert (Bobby). I am creating this GoFundMe for my mother. She recently passed away. As with most passings of our loved ones, it's not expected nor planned 99% of the time. We all have to go through this process in life, where we celebrate our loved one's life as we lay them to rest.
My mother was a strong-willed woman, and she had to be to raise me. She was a hard worker; she worked most of the time two jobs to support me and her, and I never wanted for anything. If I asked, I might not have gotten it right away, but I eventually did.
She bestowed a set of principles on me growing up. Perhaps the most important are “Treat others the way you want to be treated” and “Always look up at people; don't cower to anyone.” She was very adamant about the last one because I had a tendency to lower my head and not look people in the eye when I was younger. It changed my demeanor for good or bad, who knows. Ha.
Through all my challenges in life, she helped me the best she could, and I tried my best to return the favor. We all have dreams and make promises that we think are set in stone, but that stone can break at any time. We can plan in this life, but nothing is for certain.
I want my mother to have a proper sending to the next world. She lived her life the best she could, and now she doesn't have to deal with the pessimistic inclination of status in this world anymore. So with that said...
Most of you know me and/or knew my mother. I don't have to tell you or explain to you how wonderful a Mother, Sister, Aunt, and friend she was.
I never like asking for anything. I always told myself, as my mom did, that if I was capable, I would do it myself. However, no matter how strong you are you have to know when to ask for help.
I am asking for your help today. Anything can help with my mother's Funeral/burial. As most of you know, I am a single dad of 3, so income is limited, but I am working other avenues, and anything you can provide can help.
Thank you, and God bless.
“Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there. I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the morning's hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry;
I am not there. I did not die.”
