I lost my business in China due to the struggling economy, which made it hard for people to spend on mid-ticket food items. I previously owned a bagel shop, a bar, and a cafe that all did well, but the economic downturn forced me to close. Now, I’m moving back to California to start over. For most of my life, baking has been more than a job — it’s been the way I connect with people. There’s something powerful about making food with your hands and sharing it with others. A simple pastry or donut can turn strangers into regulars and a neighborhood into a community. Over the past year, my life has gone through some difficult changes, and I’m now working hard to rebuild from the ground up. Instead of giving up, I’ve decided to start again doing what I know best: baking. My goal is to launch a small artisan donut stand that serves fresh, yeast-raised donuts made with care and creativity. To make this happen, I need help covering the basic startup costs — things like a market booth, equipment, permits, and ingredients. These are the tools that will allow me to bring my baking back to life and begin serving my new community. Every contribution, no matter the size, moves me one step closer to opening this stand and sharing something I truly love with others. If you can’t donate, sharing this page with friends or family would mean just as much. Thank you for taking the time to read my story and for helping me turn a difficult chapter into a fresh start.
