Help me kick stage 4 metastatic melanoma's butt!

Hey, I’m Bonnie. I’m 38 and back in August I fell extremely ill while working and after trying a local urgent care I was told to go to the emergency room. They found that I was extremely anemic with a hemoglobin of 4.5, it was said they had no idea how I made it there. After extensive testing they found a section of my intestines to be damaged with a mass attached. After surgery to remove what they found, they diagnosed me with stage 4 metastatic melanoma. It had spread to other places within my chest and abdomen. In September I received my first immunotherapy treatment and ended up getting colitis and a rash. This week I went for the second treatment and had an allergic reaction, so they had to pull the plug on my treatments. At this point I have been referred to Duke in NC for other possible forms of treatment.

All this being said, most scans (PET,MRI,CAT) range from $1200 to $2000 each my out of pocket cost at Mcleods, Duke is even more costly. Additionally, there are costs to the lab work, visit co pays, treatments and medication. Now that I will hopefully go to Duke, there will be possible stays as that’s a few hours away from home.

I am currently working with Mcleods, Duke and my insurance company to approve me to be treated at Duke. In the meantime, I will have to pay out of pocket for my visit so I can schedule an appointment unless I wait for the insurance GAP exception to be approved, and unfortunately time is one thing I don't have right now.

Due to my current state, I’m not working but trying to find treatment and fight a good fight. Any help would be appreciated, this is going to be a long tough road, and I’ll go where ever I need to find answers.
