I am Courtney Elaine, a quadriplegic residing in Houston, TX. I’m on a mission to defeat ableism and a journey of independence, one that requires sacrifice, strength from God, and the ability to KEEP PUSHING through adversities. I live by the mantra, “Anything you can do, I can do. I’m just going to do it differently.”
The one thing that I do differently from most of those around me is walk. Those that know me and my story know that I am a wheelchair user and therefore know that although I was not born with the inability to walk, due to tragedy/a spinal cord injury I now utilize wheels to get around. My wheelchair has been my vehicle to liberation, and has helped fuel my independence. The gag is, like any other vehicle, maintenance and ultimately replacement when it no longer serves you is vital. Currently I am at the point where my wheelchair no longer serves me and is beyond repair. Thankfully NuMotion Mobility Solutions has temporarily loaned me a chair to get around in while a customized manual chair is ordered and created to replace my previous one. Without a wheelchair, I have no way of moving about this earth self-sufficiently. However, the type of chair that I need is EXPENSIVE!
In order for me to KEEP PUSHING through adversities, I need help. I repeat, I need help. I Courtney Elaine, the women that hates to ask for help, is asking for it. Would you please help me purchase a new wheelchair? It would mean the world to me! Your generous donation of ANY amount could help get me back into a wheelchair that is customized for my body to help support my posture better and enhance my ability. Would you help me KEEP PUSHING?
