I work at a no-kill rescue in Fort. Lauderdale, and I read a post, some months ago, about a lovely woman who had rescued a dog from an abusive situation and , later, she and the dog had to leave an abusive partner and she ended up living in her car with the dog for 3 years. She promised Peele, a sweet and loving, 8 year old, male, Black Mouth Curr - Aussie mix, that she wouldn't leave him or drop him off at a kill shelter; however, she reached out to no- kill rescues during this period, but to no avail. Recently, Misty, Peele's owner, had a medical emergency and she was hospitalized because she required an appendectomy. In the meantime, dear Peele sat curled up in the front seat of her car, waiting for his guardian. It was not safe for him to remain in that car any longer, so I was desperate to find a place for him and I attempted to reach out to rescues and to potential fosters, but I had no luck; my workplace , a no-kill rescue, was, at that time and remains, at capacity as it regards to dogs that are 50 lbs plus, and Peele weighs 110 lbs; however, a boarding facility finally agreed to take him in. The owner of the facility is a trainer and he has helped Peele overcome so many hurdles. Peele loves his caretakers there and he socializes with other dogs. Most importantly, he will be able to remain there until there's an opening at the rescue where I work !!!!! He's officially on the rescue's waiting list.
I, and some generous friends, have been able to pay for his boarding so far, which is $140.00 per week ( they were generous enough to afford me a special price for him ), but I have been struggling to pay his boarding fees, lately, and I dont know when there will be an opening at the rescue. I'm hoping that you all are moved by Peele's and Misty's journey and that you join me in providing Peele with a second chance. His human guide, Misty , is currently in a safe environment and she's taking steps towards claiming her life back; both she and I, and everyone who has helped Peele, want Peele to have a chance at a better life. It's only possible if I can keep him safe in the boarding facility, until we have a spot at the rescue; there is no other choice for him, so please help me ensure that he remains there so he can come to Abandoned Pet Rescue for a chance for the loving home he so much deserves.
I will post all transactions reflecting payments to Kearn's Boarding and updates here.Peele, Misty , and I will truly appreciate all your help.
Thank you so very much
