Hello everyone,
It’s with a tender heart that I reach out today. My art medium is my camera, and it was stolen in Tuscon AZ. It has not been recovered and I am devastated yet hopeful.
For anyone who knows me, you know the magic my camera and I make together.
I am reaching out today for some community support. I have captured a lot of you over the years, and many of you have loved and framed the photos I have taken of you.
I do not reach out for financial support often. Maybe it’s because I want to prove to myself or others that I can do it all alone. Or maybe it's that as a Black Trans person I want to prove to you that I can survive within systems of oppression and they will not break me (tbh they hinder me everyday I just hide it well). But that is not always the case, and $1550 is difficult to pull out of my ass with a lot of photo and video work coming up. I do need support from others and this is one of those times.
I am raising $1550 in order to get a new camera, and some new camera gear.
