Help Me Keep My Pet Store Open!

Hi friend! Amanda, here owner of Lucky’s Pet Store in Bronzeville and I unfortunately am in the process of losing my store that I created for the community. Bronzeville is and has always been my home and because I wanted to make the store perfect before opening, I got behind on rent. I owe $20,000 in back rent because I was too embarrassed to ask for help but I would be devastated if I lose my store. I just got my grooming room started and business has finally started thriving! Everyone who comes into my store is always received with love, knowledge and free pet treats!

Since before my children were born, owning a pet store has always been my dream! When I graduated from vet tech school and worked in the veterinary field, I never lost sight of my goal of owning a pet store that would benefit us all. The plan is to help both humans and animals live comfortably in the same home. I am asking for donations to keep the pet store from closing, I’m going to lose the store if I don’t get help.

Being a woman of color and a single mom, it is important to teach my children that whatever adversities may come your way you must always preserver and ask for help.

The pet store sells nutritional dog and cat foods, treats, grooming, delivery of foods, and transportation to and from grooming and veterinary appointments. My goal is to focus on seniors and the importance of caring for their pets needs. I am asking for donations to keep the store running for the community. Lucky’s pet store does not only service North Kenwood, we reach South Shore, AuburnGresham, and Englewood. We are the ONLY Black-owned pet store in the city and the Alderman has been very supportive of me staying here.
