Hi, my name is Sueriah. I’m 26 years old and currently 18 weeks pregnant with my very first baby. From the moment I found out I was pregnant, I knew I wanted a home birth—something I’ve dreamed of ever since I learned about midwifery during my freshman year of college.
After a lot of searching, I found my midwife—the person who gets me, supports me, and gives me confidence like no one else. She’s become my rock in this journey, alongside God and my mom. Having her by my side means everything to me.
But life has recently thrown some unexpected challenges my way, and I’m facing the very real possibility that I won’t be able to afford to have her with me during my birth. The thought of giving birth in a hospital—where I’ve experienced trauma in the past—fills me with fear and sadness. Most importantly, when I turned 26, I aged off my mom's healthcare insurance coverage, making things even more difficult.
I say this with a heavy heart because I know loss all too well. I lost my uncle, who was like a father to me. Losing him broke me in ways I’m still healing from, and I can’t bear the thought of losing someone else so close during such a vulnerable time in my life.
This birth is more than just bringing a baby into the world—it’s about healing, safety, love, and hope for my child and me. If you can help me raise the funds to keep my midwife by my side, you’ll be giving me something priceless: the chance to welcome my baby in the way I’ve always dreamed, surrounded by peace and love.
Thank you so much for reading my story and for any support you can offer. It means the world to me and my growing family.
