This last year I have had a series of challenges: multiple dizzy spells; falls; knee surgery; multiple visits to ER; five hospitalizations; the loss of my mother; car labeled unsafe to drive; loss of my dog, Freddy; possibility of another knee surgery; and a shut-off notice dated for 4/25/25 from Consumer's Power (I only have 10 more days to raise funds.) Total I owe is $2198. In November 2025, my account with Consumer's Power was completely paid off, and I owed nothing. But everything changed in 12/2025, when my balance suddenly jumped to almost $2000. Eight months after my mom passed away, her account was unexpectedly added to mine. Now, I am facing a gas and electric shut-off notice, and I am overwhelmed by the sudden burden.
The series of challenges this past year have left me physically, mentally, and emotionally drained. The stress of possibly losing my gas and electricity, while dealing with grief and health challenges, has made it impossible for me to catch up. I feel like I am drowning and don't know where else to turn.
Getting help now would allow me to keep my home warm and safe, relieve some of the stress I am under, and give me a chance to recover from everything that has happened. Any support—whether it's a donation or simply sharing my story—would mean the world to me. Thank you for taking the time to read and for any help you can give.
