A week ago, my life changed in a way I never saw coming. My mother passed away suddenly, without warning, and I’m still struggling to understand how it happened so fast. One moment she was here — talking to me, laughing with me, being the steady, loving presence she always was — and the next, she was gone. There was no time to prepare, no chance to catch my breath, no space to imagine a world without her.

She wasn’t just my mom. She was my best friend, my confidante, the person who always knew how to calm me down and make me feel safe. She took care of everyone around her, often putting her own needs last. She had a way of making people feel seen and loved, and she deserved so much more time than she got.

Because everything happened so suddenly, I’ve been thrown into a situation I never expected. I’m trying to handle her cremation and final arrangements while also trying to keep myself afloat. The financial strain hit all at once, and I simply can’t keep up. Without help, I will be homeless by March 1st.
