Hey y'all, I wanted to share what's been happening and ask for your support. Since this past February, I've been in the hospital for multiple back surgeries after a MRSA infection took hold in my spine. To prevent the infection from spreading and causing more complications, both of my legs were amputated. Now, I'm at a nursing and rehab facility, getting IV antibiotics and some physical therapy. The plan is to discharge on May 2nd, once my antibiotics are finished.
While I've been fighting through these health challenges, I've fallen behind on my rent and utilities at my apartment. My social worker is working hard to help me set up home health and wound care for when I leave rehab, but my property manager says I won't have the apartment to return to unless I catch up on rent and get my lights and water back on this week. If I lose my apartment, I have nowhere else to go, which would make it impossible to get the wound care and support I need for my recovery.
I do receive a monthly check, but it won't arrive in time to help with these urgent bills. If there's any way you could help me out, it would mean so much and make sure I have a safe place to come home to when I'm discharged. Thank you for reading and for any support you can offer. Much love.
