This camera helped me heal. Now I need help to keep it.

Hi, my name is Miki, and I’m currently at a crossroads in my life.

This month, I’m going through a personal crisis that has left me unable to cover my basic living expenses. As things stand, the only way to make ends meet would be to sell my beloved camera, a tool that means far more to me than just a piece of equipment.

My camera has been my companion on a powerful journey of self-love, healing, and self-acceptance. Through photography, especially self-portraiture, I’ve found a way to express my emotions, tell my story, and reclaim parts of myself I once struggled to accept. Sharing this work online has allowed me to connect with others, and hearing how my art has touched people has only deepened my commitment to this path.

Selling my camera would mean putting all of this on hold. It would mean silencing a part of me that has only just begun to speak with clarity and purpose. It’s a painful thought, but one I’ve had to seriously consider.

I know that many people on this platform are facing devastating medical or financial emergencies, and it’s not easy for me to ask for help.
