Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
Writing this isn’t easy, but I’m doing it with honesty, hope, and deep gratitude.
My name is Shabba. I’m a mum to the most amazing little boy, Jackson, and a wife to my wonderful husband, Steven. For the past few years, cancer has been a constant part of my life — but it has never defined my determination to keep fighting.
For those who don’t know my journey:
In 2021, I was diagnosed with stage 1, grade 3 breast cancer and tested positive for a rare genetic mutation called PALB2. I underwent surgery and treatment, followed by a double mastectomy in 2022, and was told I was cancer-free.
In 2023, I was re-diagnosed with primary breast cancer in my lymph nodes. I had a full axillary clearance and further treatment, and once again, I was told I was cancer-free.
Then in 2024, I was diagnosed with primary breast cancer in three separate places. This time, I was told it is incurable, and I was given a life expectancy of five years.
So far, I’ve been through nine rounds of chemotherapy, 15 rounds of radiotherapy, and more hospital visits than I can count. Last year, thanks to the overwhelming kindness and generosity of so many of you, my previous GoFundMe achieved something truly incredible. Because of you, I was able to travel abroad for specialist treatment — treatment that gave me hope, strength, and most importantly, more precious time with my family. I will be forever grateful. Your support genuinely changed my life.
Recently, my latest scans have shown slight growth in two of the three areas. While my oncologist has advised that this isn’t something to panic about at this stage, the news is still incredibly hard to face. It does, however, mean that the fight has become that little bit harder — and that I need to start thinking outside the box.
With conventional options becoming more limited and time feeling more precious than ever, my medical team and I are now exploring additional proactive, complementary, and holistic treatments. These are designed to support my body, strengthen my immune system, improve my overall wellbeing, and give me the best possible chance to slow progression — and to stay present for my son and my family.
These treatments aren’t about false promises or guaranteed cures. They’re about doing everything humanly possible.
Unfortunately, many of these therapies aren’t available on the NHS and must be funded privately, both here in the UK and potentially abroad again. That’s why I’m reaching out — humbly, honestly, and with hope.
❤️ What Your Support Will Help With
• Complementary and holistic therapy programmes
• Specialist immune and wellness treatments
• Travel and treatment costs not covered by public healthcare
• Allowing Steven time off work to care for me and Jackson
• Essential living costs during this incredibly difficult period
This journey has shown me the true power of community, love, and kindness. Every donation, every share, and every message reminds me that I’m not fighting alone — and that means more than I can ever put into words.
If you’re able to donate, share, or simply send love, please know that you are helping me keep fighting and giving me more time with the people I love most.
Thank you, from the bottom of my heart,
Shabba
