Help Me Keep Creating, Coaching, and Building Community

Hey friends,

As many of you know, I recently left my job at a state medical school in Texas. Being nonbinary in this political climate made it increasingly difficult to stay, and after receiving at least one threatening message, I knew it was time to move on. While it’s been a tough transition, I’m choosing to see it as an opportunity to step fully into the work I truly believe in—supporting others through coaching, leadership development, and the arts.

A lot of people have told me I should become a therapist, and while I love that idea, the time and financial investment aren’t feasible right now. Instead, I’m pursuing certification as a coach through the International Coaching Federation (ICF), allowing me to put my experience in leadership, mentorship, and creative development to use in a more structured way. I’m also continuing to build Deconstructing Directing, and I’ve been invited to present at multiple conferences this year—opportunities that are invaluable for both my growth and the impact I want to have, but that come with financial costs.

Here’s what I’m raising funds for:

Coaching certification through ICF: $3,000

Coaching website with booking integration: $500 (annual)

Stage Directors and Choreographers Society Associate Membership: $465

Mid-America Theatre Conference registration (driving to ATL to save money!): $175

Radical Welcome Symposium registration: $200

Symposium travel/lodging: $600

$100 – One hour of coaching (life, acting, directing, ADHD, career, leadership—your choice!)

$300 – A Squarespace website (you’ll need to cover domain/hosting, but I can get you a 20% discount)
