A Chairde
My name is Hannah, I'm from Connemara, Co. Galway & based in Ballydehob, West cork.
Like so many of us, I've been watching the tragedies in Palestine and ongoing genocide & illegal occupation through my phone.
Alongside my community, friends & family I have organised raffles & events (I'll include links to my instagram below if you'd like to know more) to raise money for emergency aid in Palestine, we've been sending funds via Gaza Go Bragh & Irish Artists For Palestine. But I still feel utterly powerless and I know I can do more. I want to mobilise and march for peace.

I know there are so many of us who would like the opportunity to join this march, but can't because of life circumstances, physical limitations, family commitments, work commitments etc.
I would love to march for you <3
An international civilian coalition of 30+ countries, has recently been forming, calling for a Global March to Gaza. Thousands will depart al-Arish, Egypt, on the 15th of June, and walk for 3 days to the Rafah border. This international delegation of civilians will remain peacefully at the Rafah border for a few days. We will make our presence felt by governments, known to the world media and hopefully our voices heard by the people on the other side of the wall.
Gaza is starving, crushed, isolated. This is not just about symbolic support. We want to deliver humanitarian aid with a strong civilian presence to create international moral and media pressure. If states fail, then the people must step in.
It is important to state that this is a civic, apolitical, and independent movement which does not represent any political party, ideology, or religion. It represents the people, in all their diversity and humanity. Its only guiding principles are justice, human dignity, and peace.
The entire trip has to be funded by the participants themselves.
My costs will include return flights to Cairo, travel insurance, accommodation, supplies and food for 2 weeks. Any surplus money raised will go directly towards providing humanitarian aid.
I will document the trip as much as I can and share updates & photos whenever possible.
