I have recently found out that I have achieved a National Ranking and All American status with USA TRIATHLON (USAT). This national ranking has qualified me for a spot on TEAM USA for the 2023, standard distance duathlon, sprint duathlon, aquathon in Spain, triathlon national championship, and the long course Powerman Duathlon World Championships in Zofingen, Switzerland on September 3, 2023.
I would love to accept the invitation to be on TEAM USA for the Zofingen event. Although I have participated in marathons, ultra marathons, duathlons, obstacle races, SwimRun events, and triathlons all over the United States, Europe, and North Africa this will be the most challenging and epic
event yet.
A duathlon event has two components in three parts—run, bike, run. A normal Olympic distance duathlon consists of a 10km run followed immediately by a 40km bike ride followed immediately by a 5km run. The Zofingen event, known as the Powerman Duathlon, consists of a 10km run followed immediately by a 150km bike ride followed immediately by a 30km run, and all of this at altitude in the mountains of Switzerland. The Zofingen duathlon event is often equated with a triathlon Ironman event—the toughest in the world and is the longest course over which the championships have been held. Only a small number of athletes from the US have been chosen to attend.
I am also the owner of a Winchester City small business called Fascia Lines, providing therapy that increases mobility, core stability and well-being by focusing on the fascia that is woven into, covers, and interpenetrates all parts of our bodies. I am also active in the community providing frequent classes to businesses and a variety of groups of adults and youth while working on a PhD in Human Health and Performance. Additionally, I feel that it is extremely important to invest in our youth and would like to donate 10% of what I raise for a Fascia Lines Scholarship Fund (under construction) for our local Girls on the Run program.
Support for athletes with national, Olympic and world class rankings usually come from sponsors that are anxious to have their products and services associated with those athletes. While I am considering all options to help defray the considerable expenses associated with representing our country and our city in Switzerland and training for such a grueling event at the international level, your suppport would be greatly appreciated. If you are a buisness owner I am happy to promote your business via social media, signage in the office, and a logo on my uniform that I will wear locally and internationally. For larger donations I am also happy to come to your location and do a class or lecture (virtually if necessary) on methods to keep your employees healthy and moving/working pain free.
If you have a company that is interested in offering support, please feel free to contact me Laura @Fascia-Lines.com to learn more about how I may promote your business during this journey of representing our country at this epic event.
Thank you for your consideration,
Laura Bergmann
