Hi, my name is Ibrahim. I am a 15-year-old Grade 10 student who has recently been accepted into SHAD Canada, a highly competitive summer enrichment program focused on STEM, innovation, and entrepreneurship.

When I received my acceptance email, I felt proud not just because SHAD is competitive, but because it represents the kind of future I am working toward. I have always been someone who loves turning ideas into real projects. I do not just talk about goals, I try to build them.

Over the past few years, I have started small businesses such as Ibby Bakes, where I bake and sell homemade desserts, and Slime Bros, where I created and sold handmade slime products. Through these experiences, I learned about budgeting, customer service, marketing, and the dedication it takes to run a business. I also run a YouTube channel called Ibby Does, where I create and edit soccer content and video edits. This has helped me develop creativity, digital skills, and confidence in sharing my ideas publicly. In addition, I support my mom with her fitness business whenever I can, helping with organization and promotion. These experiences have shaped my passion for entrepreneurship and leadership.

SHAD is a month-long program where students live on a university campus and work in teams to solve real-world problems. We learn directly from university professors, entrepreneurs, and industry leaders through lectures, workshops, and collaborative projects. The program ends with a capstone project where we design solutions to meaningful challenges. I want to attend SHAD because I believe it will challenge me, expand my thinking, and connect me with like-minded students who are just as driven.

Unfortunately, the cost of attending SHAD is a significant financial burden for my family. Program fees, residence costs, travel, and additional expenses add up quickly. While this opportunity is life-changing, it is not easily affordable for us.

I am someone who takes school seriously and constantly pushes myself to grow. My goal is to continue building businesses, developing innovative ideas, and eventually becoming an entrepreneur who creates opportunities for others. SHAD would be a major step in helping me gain the knowledge, mentorship, and confidence to make that vision real.
