My name is Yassin Farid. I’m a 15 year old Grade 10 student and an Egyptian Canadian living in Vancouver, Canada. I’ve always been passionate about math, science, and engineering, and I hope to study civil engineering at a top university in the future.
I’m proud to share that I’ve been accepted into SHAD Canada, a highly selective, month long summer program for students interested in STEM, entrepreneurship, and the arts. The program takes place on a university campus, where students from across Canada live together, work on hands-on projects, learn from mentors, and build lasting friendships. It will also be my first time living independently for a full month, managing my own schedule while growing both academically and personally.
Attending SHAD would be an incredible opportunity for me to grow as both a student and a person. It will help me develop new skills, explore innovative ideas, and take meaningful steps toward my academic and career goals.
The total cost of the program is over $10,000. My parents are generously covering most of the expenses, and I am raising funds through this GoFundMe to help make this opportunity possible. Your support, whether through a donation or by sharing this page, would truly mean a lot to me.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story and support my journey.
