Help me in my battle with kidney disease

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind-hearted Strangers,

I am reaching out to you today with a sense of urgency, as my life has taken an unexpected turn over the past few months. I have been diagnosed with Stage 4 Kidney Disease, a severe and life-threatening disease that has brought immense physical and emotional challenges. I am setting up this GoFundMe page in the hopes of rallying support to help cover the overwhelming costs of the time needed out of work for treatment, medications, and potential organ transplantation.

I have tried to be there for others, providing support and compassion when needed. I am just hoping to get some help during this time. I have tried other pages before but they have never really gone anywhere. I am hoping this attempt is different

The Battle Against Kidney Disease:

Stage 4 Kidney Disease is a stage where kidney function is severely compromised, with a GFR (Glomerular Filtration Rate) below 30. Currently my GFR is sitting at 20 and has been dropping recently. I am currently experiencing debilitating symptoms such as extreme fatigue, persistent pain, edema, and a loss of appetite. The treatment journey ahead is daunting, with dialysis looking to be required in the next 6 months or so. I have recently been accepted as a transplant patient and I am currently on the wait list for a kidney though I am in an inactive state until some further testing is completed.

The Financial Burden:

As I focus on battling this disease, the financial burden continues to grow. Medical expenses, including hospital stays, laboratory tests, dialysis treatments, specialist consultations, and potential surgeries, have already become overwhelming. Furthermore, the cost of post-transplant care and lifelong immunosuppressive medications are significant. Sadly, insurance coverage falls short of covering these expenses, leaving myself and my family in a vulnerable position.
