Help me in my battle against stage 3 lung cancer
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Isis Tellez. February 2022, I was diagnosed with Stage 2 Non Small Lung Cancer, sub type is Large cell carcinoma. This type of cancer is aggressive and is usually found in its last stages. This came to a surprise to myself and doctors being that I am in my early 20’s.
My doctors worked together to set up a treatment plan for myself, hopeful that with the cancer being at stage 2, I would respond well to the chemotherapy shots. In May my biweekly treatments began which caused other health complications. With recent PET Scan results, I learned that my cancer has spread to my esophagus, cecum, and still shows in my right lung. With now being at stage 3, my treatment plan looks different. In October I will start proton beam radiation, while continuing the chemotherapy shots. The doctors have made it clear to me that my 5 year survival rate with treatment went from 65% to 43% since I am now stage 3. I know that I’ll beat the odds and will win this battle. This may be my hardest medical journey yet but I’m ready to beat this and hear the doctors tell me I’m NED (no evidence of disease).
As I was making this Go Fund Me to help raise funds for my treatment, I had to take a leave from school. In 2020, I graduated school to become a dental assistant and was continuing my education in health studies. I’m currently working part time, but I do have to miss a lot of work because of this. It’s unpredictable when I miss work and for how long at a time. My employer has been very supportive and understanding which has been amazing. I know I have a strong community to help support me through this.
I know inflation is affecting everyone right now. I just want to say thank you to everyone who is able to contribute to this. Any size of donation is truly appreciated.
