*** i really really wish i didn't have to do this or share all this info because it's honestly all too heavy for me, which is why i postponed doing this for so long, but unfortunately this is my reality and i really need your help ***
hiii my name's Layla, i'm a 25 year-old queer trans woman! i'm unfortunately an asylum seeker and this happens to be the bane of my existence because it gives me nothing but pain and trauma. because i'm an asylum seeker, i wasn't allowed to work for the first 6 months since i've applied for it, and for 6 months i had to pay for my rent and everything else through my savings. After the 6 months passed i had my first interview with the IND and a few weeks later i got my W permit, which allows me to work but of course under one harsh condition, my employer needs to file a TWV work permit for me. I have applied to so many jobs, specifically ones where i can work safely as a queer trans woman, but i either get rejections or no replies, and that's because the process of my employer filing a work permit for me is insanely bureaucratic and costs time and money. Because of that, i'm still paying my rent and all other basic necessities through my savings, and now i have less than 200 euros in my bank account. I will have this work permit limitation until at least after my second interview with the IND, which they could not give me a date for, saying it could take as long as the 5th of November (possibly longer).
I need to move soon because we got a notice from our housing agency that we need to move before the 14th of May, and i need to find a new place i can register; otherwise, i'd be moved to a camp. And camps are disturbingly unsafe for queer and trans people.
to live in a new place means i need to pay deposit and rent, and i still haven't fully paid april's rent of my current place and i don't know for how much we'll be charged for May. i don't have any parental or governmental financial support, so i'm basically fully on my own financially.
i have really thought a lot about the amount for my fundraiser, and i know it seems a lot, but so far i have no source of income.
The money you'll send me will go to covering the basic necessities. it will go to paying the rest of my rent for April, to the deposit and the rent of my new place, to groceries and public transport. As soon as i find a job that offers me a proper stable income i will close down my gofundmepage. But until then, i desperately need your help. every euro you send will help me out a lot <3
Update: i had to move out of my last place bc of how toxic it was and because i couldn’t afford it anymore.
The government cut off my zorgtoeslagen bc asylum seekers aren’t entitled for any kind of governmental support and now i’m paying my health insurance in full which is 150 euros per month. And not only that but also the belastingdienst demands 681 euros from me bc they sent me “too much” zorgtoeslagen last year, and now i need to pay them 28 euros every month for 24 months. To this day i can’t find anyone that wants to employ me due to the work permit restriction enforced by the IND.
At the moment i have 138 euros in my bank account to keep me going.
My depression and mental state in general are getting progressively worse bc of all this, and i just desperately need your help so i can afford groceries and to pay my health insurance and debt and to just be able to afford basic necessities and to be able to survive through all this. If you can’t donate, please please share <3
new update: recently i got rejected from a job i applied for because COA gave me a negative advice, and COA gave me a negative advice because i’m not registered in any of their AZCs which means they can’t take 70% of my income if i did manage to get a job. This basically means that i’m not allowed to have a legal job until the asylum seeking process is over, which again, i have no idea when it will be over
i really need your help and every euro counts, thank you so much for reading <333
