Hi, I’m Dani, a New York City–based professional makeup artist. I’ve lived in the same apartment for 15 years – it’s my home, my stability, and the base for my work and my life.
On October 29, I was locked out of my apartment by a U.S. Marshal without proper notice. I went straight to court to fight it. The judge gave me one last chance: if I can pay $15,880.64 by December 30, I can be restored to my home. If I don’t, I will be permanently evicted.
I’ve already used every resource I can. I applied for grants and rental assistance, and while some support came through, one key grant was never paid. That missing payment is what created the shortfall that led to this eviction.
On top of this, I’m rebuilding after serious personal trauma, including S/A , decline in my business. I’m still working, still showing up for clients, and still trying to move forward – but I can’t cover this lump sum alone in just two weeks.
The $15,880.64 raised here will go directly toward the court-required payment and rent balance so I can be restored to my apartment and keep a safe place to live while I work and rebuild.
If my energy, my work, or my presence has ever touched your life, I’m asking for your help now.
You can support by:

Thank you for reading, for caring, and for helping me fight to keep my home of 15 years.
